The perinatal period can be overwhelming and confusing. There are various outlets contradicting one another and even more professionals that share the ‘best way’ to experience it.
What if instead of others telling you what’s best, someone asked you what YOU wanted YOUR conception, pregnancy, labor, delivery, postpartum, etc., to look like?
Better yet…. what YOU want it to FEEL like?
As a caregiver, friend, daughter, sister, mother and advocate I believe we are more than our current role, more than the medical box they often try to place us in and certainly more than the maternal health policies that struggle to support us. At RootingWidsom, the goal is your own, one to discover through evidence based education, exploration of your own intuition and a learned trust for your body’s ability.
About Kelly
Lactation Consultant Childbirth Educator Trauma Specialist Registered Yoga Teacher
With a background in public health and early childhood education I found my way to women’s health through the practice of yoga while living on the west coast.
I began as a Certified Doula (CD), Certified Lamaze Childbirth Educator (LCCE) and Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) in a high risk hospital setting. I fell madly in love with assessing feeding issues and collaborating with families to curate the best path for them.
I studied to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and in recent years have dedicated my time to helping birthing parents in recovery navigate the perinatal period. I’m currently finishing my masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am a Clinical Certified Trauma Specialist in Pregnancy and Addiction (CCTS P/A).
Trained Specialties Include:
Perinatal Mood Disorders, Breastfeeding & Medications, Pregnancy & Addiction, Oral Restrictions, Breastfeeding in the NICU, Oral Dysphagia, Feeding/Swallowing Abnormalities Post Birth Trauma/Injury, Lactation Induction, LGBTQI+
